Sternum Fracture Fixation With Volar Radius Plate: A Case Report

چکیده
Sternum fractures which is a condition seen by 3-8% after blunt thoracic trauma is a situation faced frequently, especially depending on seatbelt usage in traffic accidents. Stabilization is recommended to prevent complications that have high mortality rate like flail chest and cardiovascular injury in sternum fractures. Various materials have been used as a sternal fixation method until now. It was stated that sternum stabilization is provided very easily with using of very fine plaques in 1.5-2 mm. We aimed to present a male patient with flail chested that is 63, operated to prevent risk of cardiac trauma that will be able to develop depending on sternum fracture displaced structure developing at the end of tractor accident because of difference of instrument used in operation.

Late rupture of flexor pollicis longus tendon 10 years after volar buttress plate fixation of a distal radius fracture: a case report.
We report the case of a complete rupture of flexor pollicis longus tendon in a 30-year old-man 10 years after open reduction and internal fixation of a distal radius fracture with a volar buttress plate.
متن کاملDistal radius nonunion after volar locking plate fixation of a distal radius fracture: a case report
We describe a 59-year-old man who had nonunion of a right distal radius fracture after volar locking plate fixation. He underwent open reduction and internal fixation with a volar locking plate system for a dorsally displaced, unstable distal radius fracture at a previous hospital 5 months ago. Radiographs of the injured wrist showed nonunion of the distal radius with 1.5-mm ulnar minus varianc...
متن کاملFailure of volar locking plate fixation of an extraarticular distal radius fracture: A case report
BACKGROUND Volar locking plates provide significant structural stability to the distal radius. Failure of a volar locked plating is a rarely reported complication in the literature. CASE PRESENTATION A 40 year-old, obese female patient who presented with a displaced extraarticular distal radius fracture, underwent open reduction and internal fixation of the fracture using a volar locking plat...
متن کاملDevising for a distal radius fracture fixation focus on the intra-articular volar dislocated fragment
INTRODUCTION Distal radius fracture (DRF) accompanied by intra-articular volar displaced fragment is difficult to reduce. This volar fragment remains when treated with a simple buttress effect alone, and V-shaped deformity may remain on the articular surface. We attempted to improve dorsal rotational deviation of volar fragment by osteosynthesis applying the condylar stabilizing technique. We r...
متن کاملDifficulty in Fixation of the Volar Lunate Facet Fragment in Distal Radius Fracture
Recent reports suggest the presence of a rare fracture type for which reduction and fixation cannot be achieved with volar locking plate (VLP). In particular, it is difficult to achieve reduction and fixation with volar lunate facet (VLF) fragments present on the volar ulnar aspect of the lunate facet, because of the anatomical structure and biomechanics in this region. Herein, we report two ch...
